Context
: Some 2009 John Tyler Presidential Dollars were discovered with missing edge lettering inscriptions. It appears that the Mint produced many coins since the start of the Presidential Dollar coin series with missing edge inscriptions. The John Tyler missing edge Dollars appear to be much scarcer than some of the first designs issued in 2007 and 2008 with the missing edge lettering inscriptions. The John Tyler missing edge lettering coins also seem to command a significantly larger premium than some of the previously discovered missing edge Presidential dollars indicating that they should be a bit scarcer.
